Kayla as practitioner
EMAIL: kayladougan78@hotmail.com
Kayla’s practice is rooted in somatic approaches to movement and bodily enquiry. Her current project, Somatic Reach, focuses her practice on and with adults experiencing ageing. Somatic Reach is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
Kayla’s practice offers opportunities to foreground bodily engagement with sensing and feeling, leading towards a dynamic movement range that is supported, safe and exciting in the micro and macro, and scales in between.

SLOW FLOW
contemporary dance technique
A dynamic and lively class that works all the muscles in your body and gives your mind something to really focus on!
This class is pitched to suit adults that are new to dance as well as those who have previous dance experience. We bring awareness to the spine and the body in relation to space and gravity. We spring, roll, slide and fall. We extend and flex, soften and fold. Drawing from classical dance technique, yoga and contemporary dance techniques, we move through a variety of sequences that enhance flow, build strength and open the body towards a more energised and released state.

Where: Southside, Colegrave Street, Lincoln, LN58DW

"It's just so good for me!"
"This dance class with Kayla is so wonderful, it makes me feel like a proper dancer, when in fact I have never done anything like this before! It’s really well guided; Kayla gives brilliant verbal/visual explanations and uses great music too."
"I really enjoy Kayla's approach to teaching which is very laidback and casual but has us working through some pretty dynamic moves.
I can feel muscles being used that I'd never given much thought to before. I am always curious to experience what we’ll be doing next!"
